Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container Bags, also known as Jumbo Bags/Bulk Bags, are one of the most cost effective types of packing for storage and transportation of a wide range of materials such as chemicals, food, metal etc. Manufactured from tubular/flat woven fabric, these bags have a large storage capacity. These bags may be availed from us in a carrying capacity of 250 kgs to 2000 kgs as per the needs of the clients.
Type A FIBCs are made of plain-woven polypropylene and other non-conductive fabrics. Static electricity is generated when the product moves against the surface of the bag while being filled or emptied. Shouldn't be used for carrying inflammable materials or kept near a potentially combustible environment. Type A FIBCs can transport non-combustible products safely.
Safe use for type A bulk bags:
Type B bags contrast from Type A bags in the ability to breakdown charges through the texture, including the coating, which will be sufficiently low enough to forestall electrostatic releases, for example, proliferating brush releases (< 4kV). Flash releases may happen from the outside of FIBC Type B in the event that they become sullied by, or covered with, a conductive material (water, oil or grease, for instance). Safety measures should be taken to keep the bags away from such tainting and to keep it away from conductive articles, for example, instruments or metal clasps being set on the FIBC. In spite of the fact that Type B mass bags can forestall proliferating brush releases, they are NOT viewed as anti-static mass bags since they don’t disperse an electrostatic charge. Even though Type B bags can be used for the purpose transporting dry flammable powder, but it should be in contact with metal or any gaseous or flammable items from outside, since outer cover does have the ability to breakdown static electricity, making the bag unsuitable and risky for transportation of flammable items.
Safe use for type B bulk bags:
If the minimum ignition energy of the combustible dust present when bilk products are handled exceeds 1000 mega joules and is less than 3 mega joules, it is safe to use Type D bag. Type D FIBC is safe for use in non-flammable, explosive dust, gas and vapour filled atmospheres. The bag does not require grounding or earthing. It is advisable to use Type D bags inevitably in industries that experience a high risk of electrostatic hazards, prominent among them being minerals, foods, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. The safety features inherent in the FIBC assists in removing inherent hazard of grounding failures which always remain present in FIBC Type C or other conductive bags. Grounding errors can occur due to manual failures. As you switch away from Type C grounded bags to Type D, you are assured of the proven safety of these bulk containers.
